Please Tell Me What You Think.

March 20, 2005 / by disciple

I was watching a show on T.V. and the person doing the interviewing was asking the question of if you belive in the gospels.
First, they asked do you know the 4 gospels. There were only a few that did.
Second, they asked do you believe in the gospels. Alot of people said no. They think that it''s just something written by someone along time ago.
Also next week is Easter. I wonder how many people believe that jesus had came out of the tomb. If you don''t believe that, then what do you believe. Do you not believe he ever existed. Or do you believe that someone took the body out.
If anyone reads this, I really hope you would make a comment on this no matter what you think.
Thanks.

The minds of the unbelievers have been blinded. How else can you explain the complete ignorance of so many on the facts about the most historical figure of time? People think it is a fairy tale. People think that the massive jigsaw puzzle of the Biblical record just happened to all fall into place but there was no intelligence behind it all. You have to be insane not to believe the Gospel.

I am a christian and I believe in the 4 gospels, which are Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John by the way, lol. I am proud to be a christian and love my Lord with everything I have. I hate the turn towards paganism that has been comsuming this country for many years now. I know that it is in the revelation that things will come to this but it doesn't mean that I have to like it.

    God bless,

Well the jews did a pretty good job on thier Torah. Do you believe the Torah OVER the bible? Do you believe salvation is through the Law?
The Muslims did a good job with the Quran. (By the way, by good job I mean in size and intricacy.) In fact the muslim religeon is the largest in the world. They believe Jesus was never nailed to the cross, his place was taken by a guard after thier spirits switched bodies. This was why the Apostles didn't recognize Jesus later on. Do you believe that? Why not? It's all written, so it must be true.
Maybe by being christian YOU are the pagan. Maybe only Jehovah's witnesses will be saved. Who know's.

To answer your question, I do not believe in the gospels nor none of the other religeous writings. I don't believe them for the same reason you don't believe in the Jews or the Muslims. They are goofy stories full of things that never came true. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead and said that we too would do this and many other greater things. So hey! go heal Terry Shiavo with the power of Holy Spirit and in the Name of the Lord. You can can't you?
With faith the size of a mustard seed you could cast mountains into oceans. It is true isn't it? You, as a christain, can do this, right?
I think people tell stories to bolster what they want to believe. I think all of these books are just that, little stories.
By the way Easter is named after the Goddess of Fertility: Easter. Here symbols were rabbits and eggs. You paint an egg blue if you want a boy, pink for a girl.
Valentines is for the God of Love Cupid.
And Christmas is not in October when Jesus was born(he died at age 33 and 1/2 in April. October is a 1/2 a year away from April. So to die in April at 33 and a 1/2 he would have been born in October.) However, Saturnilia took place in December because that was when Equinox occurred. Worshippers of Saturn the Sun God thought that at equinox day was taking over night. So to help Saturn out they would decorate trees, dragg them out into a field and light them on fire.
Do you believe these things too? Or do you just like large humanoid rabbits and presents?

I was once "born again".. I got caught up in a youth church with a very charismatic pastor when I was a teenager. Teenagers are so easily influenced and I see why they are so targeted by those who try to save souls. However, I saw the light and no longer call myself a Christian. By nature I am a free-thinker, like many liberals... and could not handle the hypocrasy and judgementalness of evangelicals. I am in strong favor of freedom of religion and spirituality, but in my opinion "fundamentalist" christians are the next big danger to America, as they are beginning to take over our government, threatening our long-standing seperation of church and state that our forefathers have handed down to us. They are advocating that our freedoms be restricted, and government interference in our personal lives.

Personally I don't subscribe to any religious beliefs. I believe that there is a higher power that we cannot possibly understand, but I certainly do not believe in the divinity of Jesus. I'm very comfortable in this belief, and thanks for asking.
